Microsoft and Nokia are the only names you do not hear on the current Smartphone market. However, on the 11th of February, 2011, Microsoft and Nokia announced in London that they intend to join forces to topple giants Apple and Google who are currently dominating the throne.
The two firms announced “a broad strategic partnership” that will see Nokia phones running Microsoft Software.

The announcement of Microsoft and Nokia joining forces came after Nokia’s chief Stephen Elop’s recently commented that his company was struggling to keep up with the current market and that this new “change” was going to be the deal that accelerates a new path aimed at regaining their Smartphone leadership.
